About Us

Forest James, the owner of Otis Roofing, is a fourth-generation Austinite. Forest has always had a knack for solving problems. At the age of 13, snow cones were what every kid wanted in the Texas summer heat. Forest realized there wasn’t a place to get one in his neighborhood. So, he opened a shaved-ice stand to serve those around him. It is still in operation today.

When Forest became a homeowner, he quickly experienced the joys and challenges of homeownership. Due to the Texas extreme weather, from freezing rain to excessive heat, he soon found that he needed a new roof. After encountering a hail storm, Forest got firsthand experience with storm chasers and salespeople who were here today and gone tomorrow.

Forest began the journey of learning all aspects of roofing and roofing construction. Though it took years of training and continued learning (which never stops), he started Otis Roofing, LLC. In Forest’s mind, this was an excellent opportunity to fill a need and break the typical “roofer” or “storm-chaser” stereotype. 

Our goal at Otis Roofing is to provide our customers with roofing solutions of the highest quality of workmanship and materials. We pride ourselves on giving our clients top-notch customer service. We are honest, and we will be here for you every step of the way. Our top priority is communication with our customers before and after your roofing project.
